About the Tennis Facility

The Pleasant Valley Tennis Center is one the finest country club tennis settings in the state. Located on the north side of the club, the tennis center is home to a variety of different surfaces and settings. It starts with 10 hard courts, 2 on each side of the pro shop, and 6 above the pro shop and bottom 4. It also has 4 clay courts on the east end of the facility. All 14 courts are lit for your nighttime needs. Courts 1 & 2 which are on the bottom west end of the facility have a bubble over them between the months of November and March. The bubble is heated to allow for continuous league play, lesson play, and open member play throughout the year regardless of weather.

Our newest pride and joy comes in the form of a permanent indoor structure over courts 3 & 4 which are directly on the west side of the pro shop. This brand new facility opened on September 1, 2009. It replaced a bubble that was destroyed in March of 2006 due to a 100 mile an hour straight line wind. This “open-air” indoor facility will be home to not only tennis courts, but also special functions for the entire club. These courts will provide shelter not only from the rain and cold, but also the summer heat. While it remains open at the bottom, during the winter, the structure has a series of infra-red heaters that will keep our players warm while they play. It is truly a remarkable building and we are very proud and fortunate to have it at our facility.

The tennis pro shop has also gone through some renovation. In 1999, the pro shop had an addition that doubled its previous size. This addition allowed for a sizable pro shop area for all tennis merchandise as well as a much larger work area for our pro shop manager and tennis pros. This addition also made the lounge area larger with more room to sit and fellowship with fellow tennis players.

The Pleasant Valley Tennis Center offers a full-range tennis program including juniors, adults, tournaments, lessons, USTA Team Tennis and a fully-stocked pro shop including racquet stringing. More information on all these programs are to follow on your tennis page.
