JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE
The fall / winter junior development classes will start, Monday, August 23.
Future Star: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 3:30 – 4:00
The future Stars are our 4-6 year old class. This class concentrates on having fun first! We work on the basic strokes of tennis with an emphasis on hand/eye coordination drills.
Intermediate: Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 – 5:00
The Novice/Tournament group is for kids roughly ages 7-12. This class is for beginners as well as those who have played some tennis, but are not quite ready for tournament play. Goals are stroke production, footwork, and the basic principles of point play.
Pre – Elite Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:00 – 5:00
The Pre-Elite group is for kids roughly ages 9-12. This class is specifically for younger tournament players. The intensity picks up quite a bit in this class, as we continue to work on stroke production, but put on emphasis on putting those strokes to work in the context of match play. Strategy begins to become a priority in this class as well. Once these kids are ready and mature enough, it is time for them to move to the Elite class.
Elite: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5:00 – 7:00
The Elite class is for our top level juniors. It can range in age from 9-18. This class puts an emphasis on total player development in all areas. Conditioning is a major part of this class. All players in this class must have at least a southern ranking of some accomplishment.
