Pleasant Valley is the host of the only professional tennis tournament in the state of Arkansas. The St. Vincent’s Auxiliary Men’s Professional Tennis Tournament is the longest running Futures tournament in the country. 2010 will mark the 30th anniversary of its inception. This tournament brings in some of the future stars of the tennis world. You never know who you could end up seeing on TV one day and say that you saw them when they were just a struggling tennis pro trying to make it big. Players who have passed through Little Rock include: Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, and Donald Young, just to name a few.
The 2010 tournament will be held on April 5-11. Many members support the tournament by housing some of these fine young men. It has been a very rewarding experience for all involved. The tournament is a fund-raiser for St. Vinent’s New Outlook which helps patients stricken with cancer. All money raised from the tournament goes towards the New Outlook program.
