We offer a full variety of programs at the tennis center, something to suit anyone’s needs.
Junior Development
We have a comprehensive JD program that caters from the 4 year old beginner all the way to the national level player. Please look for more information on this on the Junior Development page that follows.
Adult Leagues
We currently have 6 leagues that run year round at the Club. There are some leagues that are seasonal as well. The addition of the new indoor structure has strengthened league play. The following leagues are year-round:
Leagues for women:
3.0-3.5 Monday 8:30 – 10:00 AM
3.0-3.5 Tuesday 5:00 – 6:30 PM
3.0-4.0 Thursday 8:30 – 10:00 AM
2.5-3.0 Friday 9:00 – 10:30 AM
Leagues for men:
3.0-4.0 Monday 6:30 – 8:00 PM
4.5-5.0 Wednesday 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
There will also be a mixed doubles league forming on Sunday nights in late September.

USTA Team Tennis and Inter-city Team Tennis
In 2009, PV tennis had ladies teams at levels 2.0, 2.5, 2.75, 3.0, 3.25, 3.5, and 4.0. Men’s teams were at 3.0 and 4.5. This represents the most teams we have had in quite some time, so we are growing. We will continue these teams in 2010 as well as add a 3.5 and possibly a 4.0 men’s team as well. If you would like to join one of these teams, please call the pro shop to inquire.
Inter-city tennis is for ladies who can play in the morning. Inter-city league tennis was actually founded by Pleasant Valley ladies looking for a different, less-serious league outside of USTA Team Tennis. All tennis clubs in the city now have many teams at many different levels. Our ladies will go out and play ladies from other clubs from the months of September – November, then again from February – May. Depending on which level you are, matches are played on either Tuesday or Thursday mornings. It is a more social league where you count games instead of matches. We currently have 3 teams at PV. Please call Karrie if you would like to join any of these teams.
Special Events
We have several different special events at the club. Our penultimate event is the Challenge Cup that is held each year in coordination with the Country Club of Little Rock. Beginning in 1993, our two clubs have played our adults and their adults and let the best club win. The winner each year gets to keep the elegant “Challenge Cup” trophy that year as a symbol of bragging rights. We are happy to say that we have held the Cup for more years than our West Little Rock neighbor, giving them the worst loss in the history of the Cup in 2008. They will certainly be looking for revenge in 2009!
Other events include monthly Friday Night Mixed Doubles where spouses come out and try to get along as they play other spouses trying to do the same thing. It is fun to watch.
While the Friday night mixed is going on, we often times have a Pizza Night for the kids. Kids ranging from age 4 and up can come out and play some games in a less structured environment as opposed to their Junior Development classes. It is a fun night out for them.
We have other special events throughout the year. They are posted regularly at the tennis shop as well as e-mailed to you. We will certainly keep you in the know as these events approach.
Ladies Tennis Association
All of our ladies who play tennis at Pleasant Valley are members of the LTA. The LTA was formed long ago as a way for ladies of all ages and levels who are all PV members to get together and socialize in a tennis setting. The LTA typically hosts 4 events a year. 3 of those are tennis-playing events, and the 4th is usually a holiday get-together. The LTA is a perfect way for new members to meet and greet our current members and become a part of the ladies program. You must be in the LTA to play in our leagues, as the LTA gives prizes to league winners at the holiday party. LTA dues are $30 a year, so it doesn’t break the bank!
