PVCC Babysitting Policies

Available to all PVCC members. Parent, grandparent or legal guardian must remain on the PVCC premises.
Children: Children must be at least 3 months old.
Staff Child Ratio: The maximum number of children at any one time is 8, with one caregiver.
Days and Hours of Operation: (Hours will change with the seasons)
Winter Hours:
Sept. 1 – May 22 Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-11:30a.m.
Friday & Saturday nights 5:00p.m.-10:00p.m.
(nights are with reservations only)
Summer Hours:
May 23 – Aug. 31 Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-11:30a.m.
Monday-Friday 11:30a.m.-2:30p.m.
(with reservations only)
Friday Nights 5:00p.m.-10:00p.m.

Friday Nights, Saturday Nights, or Special Events: Reservations required for special events two days prior to the event. Cancellations must be made 24 hours before the event or the member will be charged. Minimum of child / sitter ratio may change according to the event. There must be a minimum of 4 children signed-up for the facility to be opened. If there are not 4 children signed-up, then the Babysitting Staff will call and notify the members that are signed-up by 24 hours before the event.
If you need the Babysitting Room open for a special event then you need to ask if that date is available to open two weeks prior to the event.
Fees: $6.00 per hour for the 1st child
$3.00 per hour for the 2nd child
$2.50 per hour for the 3rd child
*Billed in ½ hour increments after the 1st hour.
Health: A child, who is not feeling well, for any reason, should remain at home. A child may not attend with any of the symptoms listed below.
1. Diarrhea (three or more watery stools) during the previous 24 hours.
2. Vomiting (two or more times) during previous 24 hours.
3. Fever of more that 100 orally (without fever-reducing medication) during the previous 24 hours.
4. Other conditions such as red eyes, discolored nasal discharge and rashes.
5. Listless or lethargic behavior.
*Children should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning.
Medication: As prescribed by a physician. Parental consent form requested.
Toys: Please leave all toys at home. Many times special toys from home get lost or broken causing hurt feelings, or create problems being shared.
Food: Snacks and lunches may be brought from home. Food may not be brought in from a restaurant. Parents may order food for the children from the Around the Lake Grill. Bottle fed babies must be fed before you leave them in the Babysitting Room.
Discipline Policy:
1. Redirect attention
2. Time Out (1 minute per each year of age) (Not used for children under 2 years)
3. Contact the parent and have the parent talk to child.
4. Contact the parent to pick up the child.
5. If the child is in distress or in need of a parent it is the privilege of the Caregiver to contact the parent to pick up the child at any time.
